It's August - Where's Jo been?

In my last post before taking off for Uganda, I promised to return by the end of July and pick up where I left off. But now it's nearly the end of August and I'm just now putting up a new post. So what's been happening?

  • I got back from Uganda on July 22nd.
  • My boyfriend proposed on July 25th (and I said yes!).
  • On August 2nd I went to the ER with a gallbladder attack.
  • On August 11th I had my gallbladder removed (let that be a lesson to any other organ that decides to attack).

From August 11th to today I've been working hard at recovering from the surgery. I've also been using the forced leisure time and Vicodin to ponder new designs for Knotty Kats. The development that will hit the store first is a catnip option for all appropriate toys (as of this writing, everything except the Squiggle). And since I take my cat toys very seriously, I decided that if I was going to offer catnip toys long term, I want to be absolutely certain of the quality and safety of the herb. So, I just ordered a packet of heirloom catnip seeds and I hope to have homegrown 100% organic leaf - and - bud only catnip ready later this fall. Until then, I'll be using the commercial supplier preferred by the Knotty Kat Test Team.

Thanks for not giving up on me in my extended absence, and I'm excited to get the ball rolling again!
